An Identity Theory of Truth

In the groundbreaking book Identity Theory of Truth, author Dodd challenges traditional correspondence theories of truth, arguing that the relationship between true thought and fact is one of identity rather than correspondence. Published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2000, this insightful hardback edition spans 200 pages and presents a compelling case that facts are not merely complexes of worldly entities that validate thoughts; instead, they are simply true thoughts themselves. Dodd's modest identity theory offers a fresh perspective, allowing for a defensible deflation of the concept of truth. This thought-provoking work is essential for anyone interested in philosophy, epistemology, or the nature of truth.
