Visualizing Haiti in U.S. Culture, 1910–1950

From the 1910s until the 1950s the Caribbean nation of Haiti drew the attention of many U.S. literary and artistic luminaries, yet while significant studies have been published on Haiti's history, none analyze visual representations with any depth.
